The Boston Red Sox won their third World Series title since 2004 last night as they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 in Game 6. The Red Sox clinched last night at Fenway Park for the first time since 1918. David Ortiz was named world Series MVP after going 11-for-16 and reaching base in 19 of his 25 plate appearances. Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov is in hot water was he was arrested and booked last night in Denver. He was charged with kidnapping and third-degree assault stemming from a "domestic violence incident" but would release no further details. He was being held in police custody until appearing in court this morning. More here.
