The Phillies took on the Pittsburgh Pirates last night at Citizens Bank Park. Freddy Galvis went 3-for-3 on the night with a double, a home run, an RBI and three runs scored. With the game tied at 3 in the seventh inning, Maikel Franco drove in Galvis from second to give the Phillies a 4-3 lead and the victory. More here.
Eagles have agreed to a contract with offensive guard Wade Smith. Smith is a guard who can also play center which means he will likely be insurance for Evan Mathis, who was placed on injured reserve with designation to return making him eligible on November 10th against the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles lost right tackle Allen Barbre on Sunday as well. The original hope was his high-ankle sprain would only keep him out for four-to-six weeks but that is not the case. Barbre will undergo season-ending ankle surgery and the team has placed him on injured reserve. More here.
