The Phillies sent Roy Halladay to the mound last night for his potentially final start as a Phillie at Citizens Bank Park. Halladay went six innings allowing just one run on four hits. The top of the Phillies' was spectacular. Combined they went 9-for-16 with six RBIs, six runs scored and only one strikeout. Chase Utley had three hits, including his 18th home run of the year. He drove in a team-high four RBIs. Jimmy Rollins also added three hits of his own. The Phillies went on to win 6-4. More here.
The Flyers 2013 first-round pick Samuel Morin signed an entry-level contract with the team today the club announced. The deal is for three-years and, after incentives, carries an average annual value of $1.425 million. The 18 year-old made his debut with the Flyers Monday night against the Washington Capitals at the Wells Fargo Center. More here.
The Patriots caught a bit of a break yesterday when it came to injuries. Wide receiver Danny Amendola, who was brought in to replace the departed Wes Welker, will not undergo surgery for a sports hernia. His timetable is to expected to be just a few weeks at this point. More here.
