The Phillies opened up a three game series with the Washington Nationals last night at Citizens Bank Park. It was a pitcher's duel between Stephen Strasburg and Cole Hamels as both teams combined for just four hits through seven innings and nine hits overall. The Phillies trailed 2-1 in the eighth when Jimmy Rollins' two-out double brought home Cesar Hernandez. After a Chase Utley walk, Carlos Ruiz drove home the game-winning run. More here.
The New York Jets are trying just about everyone out at quarterback. After signing former Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell last week, Rex Ryan & Co. signed former first-round pick Brady Quinn. Quinn, 28, was signed due to the uncertainty of Mark Sanchez's injured shoulder. He will likely backup Geno Smith in New York's opener. More here.
Former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor looks like he will get the opportunity to run a NFL team. Pryor has reportedly earned the starting job with the Oakland Raiders over presumed starter Matt Flynn. The Raiders traded for Flynn following last season. Pryor was selected in the third round of the NFL Supplemental Draft in 2011. More here.
