PHILS FALL TO METS 9-4 IN SERIES FINALE
Aaron Nola gave up six runs in four innings of work as the Phillies (53-81) fell to the Mets (74-59) 9-4 in the final game of a three-game series on Wednesday. The Mets got 16 hits off of the Phillies, with nine coming off of Nola, including an inside-the-park home run from Ruben Tejada. During that home run, right fielder Dom Brown tried to grab the ball, but failed to do so and fell into a concrete portion behind the wall. It might be a concussion.
Matt Harvey started hot for the Mets, retiring 10 of the first 11 batters faced, and ended up with nine strikeouts. But he started to fade in the fifth, when Cameron Rupp got a two RBI double off of him, followed in the seventh by a Darnell Sweeney home run. The Phillies are off today, but resume play at Fenway Park on Friday night against the Boston Red Sox. It'll be a weekend for the rookie pitchers, as Adam Morgan, Alec Asher, and Jerad Eickhoff are scheduled to start on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. (REPORT)
MAIKEL FRANCO STILL FEELING DISCOMFORT
According to CSNPhilly's Jim Salisbury, the Phillies rookie third baseman felt some discomfort when he was swinging a bat on Wednesday. He was taking ground balls for over a week, when team officials said that his season might not be over. Franco even stated that it might be best for him to shut it down for next season, and instead regain some playing time in the Dominican winter league. He's been injured since August 11 with a broken left wrist. (REPORT)

A preview of tonight's game will be up later in the day.
