TSN's Darren Dreger reported on Insider Trading that the Flyers are willing to listen to offers on forward Brayden Schenn. Dreger clarified that the Flyers are not shopping Schenn but have told teams that if the right deal involving the right players should arise, they would not hesitate in dealing the 22-year-old.
This all comes about alongside Nick Kypreos reporting on Hockey Central that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking at Schenn but the Flyers asking price likely starts at young defenseman Jake Gardiner.
I don't know about you but I tense up when I think about trading another young forward to the Maple Leafs. I'm a Schenn fan and I love what he is doing in the early-going this season but management needs to decide where they see his future and just how high is his ceiling. Those two decisions will likely decide whether or not Schenn sticks around.
Schenn, who turned 22 in August, has scored six goals and dished out seven assists in 20 games this season for a team-leading 13 points. He scored eight goals in 47 games last season so he has certainly picked up the pace. He is on pace to score 25 goals and dish out 29 assists over the course of 82 games this season.
