We are announcing the start of a Fantasy Basketball league on ESPN, called Whiz Wit Sports Hoops. If you read The Beat today or saw on Twitter yesterday, you may have seen an announcement about it.
Here's a summary of what to expect: the league is a rotisserie league, which means that you compete against your whole league all season long and try to rank the highest in each stat category. Personally, I've mainly done Fantasy Football and Fantasy Hockey, and I wanted to try something new with playing Fantasy Basketball. And with the Sixers planning to tank and "Trusting the Process" for another season, this might add some excitement into the upcoming NBA season.
Currently, there are four teams, which include myself and Carter Fillman, who will be writing a Sixers preview in the coming days. ESPN allows for 20 total teams, and my hope is to get at least 12, but the more the merrier.
Draft day is Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, which is the night before the start of the NBA Regular Season.
If you want in on this (and we hope that you do want it, because it'll be fun), you can contact myself (Chris Jastrzembski) in some way, shape, or form, with your email address. My Twitter info is below, but you can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If we have a good group, I might plan on getting everyone together for a Sixers game sometime this season, so that should be another reason to join!
